Rio do Boi Trail
This trail is located at the bottom of the Itaimbezinho canyon in the municipality of Praia Grande/SC. It is recommended for those in good physical condition, as it involves approximately 7 hours of hiking through the interior of the Itaimbezinho canyon. Most of the trail follows the rocky riverbed. The trail's viability depends on the river's water level.
Access is via Praia Grande/SC, departing from the city center via a 12 km drive, mostly on unpaved roads, to the park's entrance gate. From there, the hiking trail begins, passing by gigantic waterfalls, natural pools, making several crossings and taking plenty of dips in the crystal-clear waters. The scenery on this walk is fantastic, and you can interact with nature amidst the gigantic canyon walls.
Hiring a certified guide is mandatory. Bring snacks, insect repellent, and sunscreen in your backpack, and wear a hat, closed shoes, and comfortable clothing for hiking. It is essential to carry an original photo ID.
